NOTE: This topic refers to the Delivery Management feature which is an extra feature added on request. If you do not have this feature on your POS and wish to use it, please contact our support team. Also, this feature is only available in SambaPOS V5 or above.
Introduction
Delivery Management allows you to place orders using SambaPOS and then track the progress of the order from preparation to delivery then payment.
Placing Delivery Orders
Firstly ensure you are have selected the Delivery department. To do this, either form the Main Menu (or any other time when you aren't creating a new order), click the Delivery department button in the bottom left of the screen.
Select the customer using Search [1] then click [2] to select then click Select Customer [3].
Alternatively you may add a new customer by clicking New Customer then add in the usual way.
Add items to the ticket [1] in the usual way, then click Close [2].
Note that the Delivery status is shown as "Waiting". This means the new ticket will be waiting to be allocated to a delivery driver.
Once you Close the ticket, it will print to the kitchen printer and you will be returned to the Customer Search screen.
Managing Deliveries
To manage Delivery tickets, click on the Delivery tab.
On the Delivery screen, the list on the left shows tickets waiting to be allocated to a delivery driver, and the list on the right shows tickets that are either out for delivery or have been delivered. Tickets are given the status of Delivering once you allocate a delivery driver to the order.
To allocate waiting tickets to a delivery driver, first select the ticket(s) [1] (you can select more than one - clicking will toggle orders between selected and unselected state), then click the name of the delivery driver from the buttons at the bottom of the list [2].
Once you click the delivery driver button, the ticket(s) will immediately show on the Delivered Orders list and their status will be updated to Delivering.
From the Delivered Orders list, you can view driving directions from your restaurant to the customer's address by first selecting the order [1] then clicking Display Map [2].
Driving directions from Google Maps will appear on screen. You can use the map in the usual way, and once finished, click the Close button to return to the Delivery screen.
Settling a Delivery Order
To settle payment for a Delivery Order, from the Delivery screen first select the ticket from the Delivered Orders list [1], then click Display Ticket [2].
The ticket will now be displayed, and you can settle in the usual way. Note the status of the ticket remains as Unpaid and Delivering until full payment has been made.
Once full payment has been made, the ticket is closed, and the status is changed to Paid and Delivered. The ticket will disappear from the Delivered Orders list.
